What to Expect at Your Consultation
1. Share your concern
The eye center staff will you to fill out our patient information sheet. They will also ask about your main eye concern, medical history, current medications, previous eye problems, surgeries, allergies, and family history. Feel free to ask them if you have any concerns.
2. Get basic eye tests
Our nurses will conduct basic eye exams:
Visual acuity test. This checks how clearly you can see letters or images from a distance.
Refraction test. This helps check if you need glasses or if your current eyeglass grade has changed.
3. Talk to your eye doctor
The ophthalmologist will check the front part of your eye and other visible structures. If needed, eye drops may be used to enlarge your pupils so the doctor can check the retina and optic nerve at the back of the eye. Your eye pressure may also be checked.
4. Next steps
After the exam, our doctor explain the findings and advise the best next step for your eye condition. You may also be given your prescription if needed.
